Youth involved in FNL programs will have the opportunity to participate in a safe environment with qualified staff, such as teachers, counselors, and/or after-school program staff, that believe in developing the skills and resilient traits of youth.

Youth will gain:

  • Cognitive and critical thinking skills
  • Personal insight and pride in competencies and abilities
  • Training in leadership and skill development in a variety of areas
  • A sense of belonging and connection to their school and community
  • Positive and caring relationships with peers and adults
  • Education on effective alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention strategies
  • A chance to make a positive difference in their school and community
  • Understanding of advocacy and social change
  • Leadership opportunities for non-traditional leader's on campus
