Saddleback High School chapter members are working on a school-based project to address the issue of equal access to school assemblies. The Saddleback FNL leaders felt that many students were not feeling connected to their school because of a school policy stating that only students with high GPA's are allowed to go to assemblies and/or participate in extra-curricular activities.
The members created a student petition and sent it to school administrators asking to change the policy along with research that shows that youth involved in extra-curricular activities are more bonded to their school. They have worked on this project for two years and are hoping to make a change this year.
