CANNED FOOD DRIVE
|
Chapter members at Renaissance Lyceum held a food drive to benefit people who are homeless and/or in poverty. The organization receiving the canned food items is Someone Cares Soup Kitchen located in the city of Costa Mesa. Between the four classrooms involved, the school was able to collect close to 100 boxed or canned food items.

The students created posters promoting the food drive and highlighting the organization receiving the collected food items. They designed boxes for the food items to be placed into for every classroom. To encourage participation a competition was held between the classrooms for two weeks with the winning classroom being awarded candy. The chapter delivered the collected food items to the location in Costa Mesa and when dropped off, it spurred on an interest amongst the students to serve at a soup kitchen. It was decided that in the near future, chapter members will plan a trip to serve at a soup kitchen. |
