Malabar Apartment chapter members are working to create safer living conditions in their community! Chapter members were concerned with the number of people that loiter or "hang out" around their complex. Members created and administered a survey to residents to see if this was a problem and to ask for possible solutions.

Once results were received, chapter members wrote a letter to the Garden Grove Police Department asking officers to patrol the area more often, and sent a letter to the apartment management asking to hire an after hours security officer and to establish a neighborhood watch program. In response to their letter, the Garden Grove Police Department placed a substation in the complex. Chapter members are excited to witness a change in their community.
