The chapter leaders at Brookhurst Junior High are helping to reduce the chance for student drug use on campus. The leaders presented to the school faculty asking for volunteers to check the restrooms to make sure that students were not using drugs. Many teachers volunteered to help and supported their plan of action.

The chapter members are now working on a different project involving a storm drain nearby that many students use as a walk way to and from school. The students sought assistance from the Public Facilities and Resources Department to photograph and document the condition of the storm drain; as well as researching the rules and regulations regarding the drain. The leaders are working on letters to City Council asking for their support. They are also writing an article in the local newspaper.
